If you’re a plumber, physio, cleaner, accountant or electrician, nobody visits your website for fun. They’ve got a problem, they want it solved, and they want to know three things fast: Do you do this? Do you work near me? Can I trust you?
Answer those quickly and clearly and the enquiries follow.
Give every service its own page
One “Services” page listing everything isn’t enough. A dedicated page for each main service lets you explain it properly, answer common questions and show up in searches for that specific job.
Make your service area obvious
Say where you work, in plain words, near the top of the page. “Servicing Melbourne’s western suburbs, including Werribee, Point Cook and Tarneit” is far more useful than a vague “Melbourne-wide”.
Show proof early
- Google reviews and testimonials
- Photos of real jobs (not stock images)
- Licences, insurances and memberships
- Years in business
Trust is what turns a browser into a caller.
Make contact effortless
- A tap-to-call phone number in the header on mobile
- A short quote form: name, phone, suburb, what you need
- Clear expectations: “We’ll call you back within two hours”
- WhatsApp or SMS options if your customers prefer them
Answer the money question
You don’t have to publish a price list, but explain how pricing works: call-out fees, free quotes, typical ranges. Uncertainty about cost stops people from getting in touch.
Don’t forget Google Business Profile
For local searches, your Google Business Profile often appears before your website does. Keep it complete, link it to your site and keep the reviews coming.
